Home Energy Raters LLC works with homes builders and designers to build-in the critical details that make buildings perform better, save energy, and meet Energy Star guidelines. Our staff of experienced, Certified Home Energy Raters can walk you through the process of identifying the efficiency strategy that makes the most sense for your specific project, goals, and budget.

Basic services include,

• Plan Review, Specification Writing

• Identify any thermal bypass areas and/or design details that need to be reworked to meet the Energy Star guidelines
• Identify any no cost/low cost effective upgrades
• Provide insulation and air sealing specifications.
• Provide guidance for HVAC selection.

Energy Modeling

• Create an Energy Model to predict energy loads and identify any weak links in the home’s energy profile.
• Determine the “pre-construction” HERS Rating score needed to qualify for the Energy Star Homes Certification and financial incentives.
• Projected “what if” scenarios to help clarify the optimum insulation levels and mechanical systems options.
